One feels all at once, joyous freedom and terrifying insignificance standing amongst the boreal forests of Northern Ontario.  With a few steps off the highway a person can be surrounded by an army of towers: deep-green conifers that are matchstick-thin, beaten and scarred from their last winters battle, but persevering and resolute.  Feasts of wild blueberries grow in the boggy undergrowth.  Their rich purple juice bursts forth like liquid sunshine as they are popped in the forager’s mouth, one after the next, browsing while walking like a beast.  A few more steps and one could vanish into the untamable wild and, by choice or folly, be lost to the world altogether... read more here.
